His grin hardened into stone. “And now it’s over. You cannot seriously hope to ‘rid’ your little province of me. Or the rest of our order, which happens to hold eighty-eight members. All with the same abilities that my friends and I share.” #RedRider
Man in the Iron Mask (1998) | Action ~ Adventure | For the honor of a king - And the destiny of a country - All for one | Paris is starving, but the King of France is more interested in money and bedding women. Aramis, Athos and Porthos band together with a plan to replace the king. Unknown to many, the king has a twin, hidden at birth, then imprisoned for years behind an iron mask.
The Man in the Iron Mask is a TERRIBLE movie, which baffles because so many amazing actors seem to be trying their best. I love the Baroque era, but the costuming in the movie is very Americanized for modern audiences, and the hairstyling is right out of, well, 1998. Baroque ladies were rocking that Princess Leia look with curls (especially in France, whose court was always the trendsetter when it came to fashion).
