A quirky facial expression really captures the eye as opposed to the text being of importance - this strategy lures the viewer in from a distance and encourages them to then draw closer and read the text. Navy blue monotone image and yellow/white text overtop. Scattered text makes for an interesting hierarchy and placement of words.
I get thinking-out-of-the-box design. But, huh? What is this trying to communicate? I don't get it. I am sure that 99% of the pop wouldn't either. Could it be fine art? Suppose. To be honest, that might be a better category for this. But a history of visual language? Confused.
