Male Resplendent Quetzal, This species is the Guatemala’s national bird. Blue and beautiful. I had wondered what the actual bird looked like when in Quetzaltenango. We heard it's call daily, but never saw one - they're so shy!
The Japanese White-eye (Zosterops japonicus) is a small passerine bird in the white-eye family. Its native range includes much of east Asia, including Japan, China, Vietnam, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Blue bird - I feed peanuts to the squirrels in my yard - and they share them with the birds. I would like to know how a small bird eats a big ole peanut like this! They fly away after picking up the nut in their beak.
