Queen Emma of the Netherlands as queen mother.Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont (1858 – 1934) was Queen of the Netherlands and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg as the wife of King-Grand Duke William III. An immensely popular member of the Dutch Royal Family, she also served as regent for her daughter, Queen Wilhelmina, during the latter's minority.
Wilhelmina of the Netherlands (1880 - 1962). Queen of the Netherlands from 1890 until she abdicated in 1948. Her reign saw both World Wars, the economic crisis of 1933, and the decline of the Netherlands as a major colonial power. If she had not abdicated her reign would have been the longest by a female monarch in history, and the second longest for any monarch, behind the reign of Louis XIV of France. She married Henry of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and had one daughter.
