Whatever happened to...family friendly television? Some of my favorites in this post! Memory lane...
Where is the family friendly television nowadays? The shows that can be enjoyed (and not just tolerated) by the whole family?
Nowadays, gender roles and fatherhood are different than they used to be. Women can be mothers and work outside the home. Men can work and be supportive, helpful fathers. It's interesting to compare the England/Edin reading because it discusses how some fathers who work are only "playmates" but this is contrary to fathers now who care more and strive to be there for their children. An example is Full House which portrays how 3 men raised 3 girls who juggled jobs while being positive figures.
Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis), Candace Cameron (D.J.Tanner), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner) Mary-Kate Olsen / Ashley Olsen (Michelle Tanner) Lori Loughlin (Becky Donaldson) & Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibler) - Full House
