If you ever receive a gift from my sister Kathleen *, it would look like this at a very minimum. She makes all her packages pieces of art -- the gift can almost be secondary at times. Seasonal finds, like this, or original art on paper, or unique things to tie together (chop sticks, birds' nets, old coins). She's a Wrap Artist.
Giving money as gifts, paint the paper with water colors and wrap in twine so that none of the money gets torn. Put layers to make it fun: one layer is a card, then they open the next layer and it is candy or small bills, and when they finally get to the last layer of paper, it is the big bills!
