The Wizard of Oz - Promo shot of Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr & Frank Morgan

We've decided to take a look back at some of our favorite fashion moments from the various iterations of Oz, from the original Judy Garland version, to Wicked. Ruby red slippers to scary (and timely) witch outfits. Click through and enjoy!

The special effects on set were sometimes dangerous. Several of the actors playing Winged Monkeys were hurt when the piano wire holding them up snapped. "Several" seems like quite a lot. But it's apparently one less than it takes to put Winged Monkey actors on strike. ? It's a little weird that they don't have an exact number, right? We think we'd remember exactly how many actors we maimed on our set. Maybe MGM injures so many extras on any given day that it's hard to keep count.
