Mint Melon Sangria Ingredients: 1 ½ cups diced watermelon 1 ½ cups diced cantaloupe 1 ½ cups diced honeydew melon 2 cups ice 10 mint leaves Juice from ¼ lime 2 bottles sparkling white wine Directions: Pour all of the diced melons in a large glass pitcher. Top with ice. Gently muddle mint leaves with the lemon juice. Add to pitcher. Pour wine in last and stir with a wooden spoon.

Omit lemon juice, add 7-up bfore serving i/o sparkling water. Consider cherries, fresh pineapple chunks, green apple chunks as additional fruit. I also add 1/2 cup of brandy

Poor Girl Sangria. Fast and cheap sangria: 2 bottles – cheap (but not gross) dry red wine, I usually go with Trader Joes. 1.5 ounces or so of Brandy. 1 can of 7 Up; use 7 up, it’s sweeter than Sprite. 1 ounce of O.J. 2 apples cut up small. 2 oranges cut up small. 1 lemon cut up. 1 lime cut up. Note: it gets better the longer it sits, but you can drink it just like that.

Holiday Sangria. The best of what is available during the fall and winter holidays - cranberry, pomegranate, orange, apple, and of course a good white wine.

Ingredients: 1 bottle merlot (can use cabernet or zinfandel) 1 lemon, cut into wedges 1 orange, cut into wedges 2-3 Tablespoons sugar 2 shots rum 2 cups Club Soda (could use Ginger Ale) Other fruit: strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, peaches, raspberries

Sangria 1.5 liters red wine (I use Carlo Rossi Sangria) 3/4 cup orange juice 1/2 cup white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or another mild white) 1/2 cup brandy 1/2 cup triple sec slices of limes, lemons, oranges (optional) Mix all ingredients together in a large pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice.
