String of Pearls. 1 Place in a bright, sunny window. 2 Water thoroughly until water drips through the drainage hole in the basket or pot -- usually no more than once per month. Discard water remaining in the drainage saucer if your pot is set on one, and never allow to stand in water. Allow the potting mixture to dry completely before watering the plant again. 3 Place plants in average room temperatures. Cold air may cause leaf drop.
