Appleton's Pulpit. Appleton Street, Saugus, MA. The inscription reads: "In 1687 Major Appleton of Ipswich made a speech on this rock denouncing the tyranny of the Royal Governor, Sir Edmund Andros. A watch was stationed on the hill to give warning of any approach of the Crown Officers."

Margaret Beaufort, his mother, is a descendant of the first duke of Lancester, John of Gaunt. He was the son of king Edward III which means that Henry Tudor had Royal blood which strengthens his claim on the throne
