I love the idea of doing this to my hair, but I have two problems: 1, what the heck do you do in step 5? Seriously, what? and 2, I really don't understand how to work bobby pins. This is why I'm afraid that I'll show up to my friend's wedding with my hair in a ponytail because I don't know what else I can do with it.

Knot your average pony. **I tried this in my own hair... even though I have lots of long, thick hair, this style made me look like I had none! Seriously... I lost seven inches off the length of my pony tail :( Check out my "French Knotted Pony" for a variation I made... leaves more length and fullness in your pony tail, and makes for a super cool look!

Always best to apply leave-in or detangler right out of the shower, before the hair starts to air dry. Spraying it on air dried hair may cause the hair to feel sticky in the long run. 2. THE FUN BUN aka how to do a top knot. this is actually really easy for short-ish hair too! just a few more bobby pins keeping the hair up top.

Lauren's hair colorist shows you how to get tipped out.

Tutorial: Prim & Proper for the Modern Bride. I wore this to work the other day and it held up beautifully with only 2 elastics and 4 bobby pins! If you know me, you know I have extremely thick, wavy hair, so that's definitely saying something!
