The mother of a 12-year-old girl petitioned the court to be allowed to kill her daughter. She felt her daughter had endured enough. Her application was granted immediately, setting a precedent. It is the first time a child breathing on her own, not on life support and not suffering a terminal illness has been allowed to die in the UK. The judge praised "mom" for her “love and devotion” towards her daughter. And then allowed the child to die a slow and painful death.
