Great idea for watering plants while away for a weekend or a few days

  • Cheri White

From Provident Living NZ, recycled bottle drip irrigation for containers. This is a great idea for when you need to be out of town a few days. My concern is having to give up container space to accommodate the bottle. Hrm.

: Bottle Drip Irrigation. Deep watering

  • Simply Dreaming

    Great idea! Lazy girl's kind of watering schedule. #garden #watering #bottles #drip

  • Lori Bolton

I like this idea because Robert would LOVE to be in charge of filling up the bottles! Slow release watering - plastic bottles, with just a few holes buried next to your plants. For containers or raised beds. Good alternative to a drip hose, esp for remote locations.

DIY Drip Irrigation System, Made from Plastic Bottles. The 'system' is super simple. All we have to do is grab some 2-liter plastic bottles, punch 2 holes into the sides and 2 into the bottom, and plant said bottles next to our plants. Fill them with water and our plants will get that slow watering they prefer. For more information about the project, visit Fine Craft Guild.
