Now that summer is here, it is a great time to build a reading nook in your home. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but it’s a great way to emphasize and encourage reading. How fun would one of these reading nooks be? A simple fort made with pillows and blankets would also do the trick.

The tree is cheap, brown tissue paper glued to the wall using Elmer's school glue. The shelves are melamine from Ikea sprayedbrown using Krylon plastic paint. The leaves are cut from a Junie B. Jones book. The cocoon is from Ikea as well.

office in a closet - I actually did this in our old house with a small closet. It worked great and I left the door on so you could close it up and the kids didn't get into everything.

Reading nook at l’Hotel du Petit Moulin. This wouldn't be that difficult with a pre-existing nook and some fancy molding.
