Chalkboard Wall Calendar - A home office is the ideal spot for a family planner. Six weeks' worth of squares in a variety of shades can accommodate several schedules. The entire wall is also coated with chalkboard paint for more memos. Start with a base coat of store-bought black chalkboard paint, then mix in varying amounts of white chalkboard paint for lighter squares.

I'm a huge fan of chalkboard paint (it's already in our kitchen) and I LOVE the idea of using it as a focal feature in front of a desk!

If you thought chalkboards were just for schoolrooms, think again. If you want colorful chalkboard purchase non-sanded tile grout and the color of acrylic paint you want and mix at a ratio of 2 tablespoons of non-sanded grout to 1 cup of paint. Of course this does not make a lot of paint so add/adjust for what your project needs. Note: it has been said that you can also use latex paint.
