An old suitcase can hold a variety of small quilting supplies. Look for a suitcase with small pockets (or create you own) on each side to keep supplies in place. I'm thinking of small style (briefcase?) for laptop work in the car. I could even set it up with a hard surface for tracing patterns, etc... while on long car trips. Transform a cabinet into a self-contained storage area. Store fabric, rickrack, and embellishments on one shelf and your sewing machine on another to keep supplies out of sight (but not out of mind!).
For easy access, stash fabric for current projects in tiered wire baskets on your cutting surface.
Store off season clothes in old suitcases and stack in the corner of the bedroom as decoration. So doing this. Totally beats my totes filling up the hall closet!
