All you do is take your favourite cake recipe, bake and let cool. Before frosting, make sure your cake is shorter than a kit-kat bar; if not trim the top to leave room for the M’s. Frost with your favourite frosting. Take a bunch of kit-kat bars (about 4 large packages). Cut or gently break each bar into two sections. Place the bars on the cake, gently pushing into the frosting. Tie with a ribbon and fill the centre with M’s (about 1 large bag). What a great birthday cake idea! <3

Tie with a ribbon and fill the center with M’s (about 1 large bag). You can leave some out to pour around the base of your cake, but since this cake was traveling with me to work, I didn’t bother. That’s it! Easy peasy! I used Hershey’s Perfectly Chocolate Cake and Frosting for this cake

What a cute idea for a kid's birthday cake. (You can't see from the photo, but there's a frosted chocolate cake behind the Kit Kat bars that probably is tall enough so that the M layer is only about 1/2 - 3/4 inch thick). Sounds easy though and would be a crowd pleaser!

I am so going to make a cake with this some day. Ooh, maybe C's birthday. If only for the look on my nieces and nephews faces when they see it.

I have that new bundt cake stone, I would love to make mom's bday cake in it--it of course would be bigger than this one. haha.

Malted milk balls on a cake. How clever!
