Think Tank...on Monday put a question for the students to answer. They will then write their answer on a fish and staple it to the board. On Fridays go thru the fish and place the ones who correctly answered the questions in the fish bowl. Draw five every couple of weeks and give those students a reward. Works as a great assessment tool to see how the students are doing with various concepts! Maybe a a trivia contest in the library?? Great way for students to check their understanding of a strategy/skill/topic at the end of a lesson. Students take 1-3 minutes to answer a question created by the teacher and hand it in as a "ticket out the door." Also known as an "exit slip," the student question can be summative or formative and teachers use responses as an informal assessment to drive instruction!
FREE DOWNLOAD How To Use: 1. As a formative assessment to see if students understood a concept. 2. As a way for students to ask questions about something they didn't understand (which I can address or "tweet back" the next day) 3.
