Annie Leibovitz (NOT pictured here) has captured feminist images for years as she has photographed strong women being soft and soft women being strong. She doesn't bind her subjects in the rolls media defines for them, rather she finds ways to pull out a truer version of them selves. This particular photo collection is awash in feminist postures and attitudes. Strength, fearlessness, confidence. Here is the portrait of an amasing artist: Louise Bourgeois

Portrait of Louise Bourgeois, French-American artist and sculptor.

Louise Bourgeois - The founder of a branch of modern art known as Confessional Artwork, Louise Bourgeois was herself not validated by the contemporary art world until 1981 despite being heavily involved since the early 1950s. Her work is unabashadly feminine and often political touching on "womanly" subjects such as Aids awareness and LGBT rights. Most prominently her work is not pretty. To be a woman artist making "grotesquely feminine" work that is accepted by the art world is a huge feat. She is an incredible artist, woman, and person.
