The Twilight Zone - was a pioneer of the science fiction genre. In addition, it was a social commentary. Its creator, Rod Serling, used the science fiction aspect of it in order to express controversial ideas and explore progressive topics.

"You unlock this door with the key of imagination.  Beyond it is another dimension:  a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind..."   On the air from 1959 - 1964, this 156 episode series had many of us lying awake at night wondering if the things we just watched could happen.  The theme is one of the most recognizable music in television history.  Marathons keep the chilling tales on the air for many of us to watch again, and for some to be frightened for the first time.
