Great use of blue on the wall as a backdrop for the main focus - family photos. Lovely tufted blue velvet ottoman as a coffee table alternative! Gorgeous blue floral rug. Super comfy-looking couch with embroidered accent pillows. Fresh flowers. And finally the wood shutters....all add to the homey, comfortable, welcoming feeling!

In the living room, a Crate & Barrel sofa mingles with 19th-century French side chairs, a gold-leaf-embossed table from the 1940s, and a Persian rug that belonged to Ed Proesel's grandfather.

I love this wall of framed pictures. I will be creating one in our dining room with black picture frames. I like the idea of framing memorabilia as well as photos.
