    for both crème brûlée and Peeps, the trick is to get the sugar coating hot enough to caramelize without cooking the custard or marshmallow underneath. If you have a brûlée torch, you can get flame serious enough to pretty much instantly melt and caramelize the sugar before the heat penetrates into the Peep itself and makes it puff.

    I have done a variation of these for school for the different holidays, the kids love 'em. And generally are edible even by those with serious allergies (always no nuts)

Homemade Marshmallows SO WORTH the time and effort. Store bought don't even come close to tasting like homemade. Would be fun to make even just once for your kids to roast either in your own fireplace or in your fire pit outside.
