The National Cathedral, Washington, DC (Episcopal). A Gothic-style building, with pointed arches & vaulted ceilings, laid out in the form of a cross. Noted for its rich carvings & beautiful stained-glass windows, it was built starting in 1907 using stones from historic bldgs & shrines all over the world. The cathedral tower contains a large carillon with 53 bells and a 10-bell English peal. Pres. Woodrow Wilson & Admiral George Dewey are among the persons of renown buried in the cathedral.
