Dulce de Leche. Caramel made from a can of sweetened condensed milk. You submerge the can of sweetened condensed milk in a crock pot under water on high heat for 8 hours. Make sure the water is always covering the can. Afterwards, allow to cool to room temperature & then refrigerate until using!

Salted Caramel Frosting- I used left over ice cream topping Carmel and it was perfect for the apple butter came I made. I imagine making your own caramel would be TO DIE FOR! But I'm not really good with boiling sugar... Getting correct temps... If you are go for it. If you are not this is a good alternative. I bet this combo would make a good cake pop, but there was none left to try!!

EASY CROCKPOT CARNITAS: 4-5 lbs. pork shoulder 5 cloves garlic 1 tablespoon salt 1 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon oregano ¼ teaspoon cinnamon ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 tablespoon chipotle hot sauce (optional) juice of 2 limes ½ cup orange juice 12 ounces beer ½ cup salsa (I like to use a less chunky one)

Interesting. I wouldn't use it as a frosting but perhaps a filling? It's dulce de leche made by sticking a can of condensed milk in a crock pot.

Crock pot orange chicken - plus Kate's notes...so here's what to add in: 1 heaping tsp of minced garlic, 1/2 tsp sesame oil, dash of ginger powder and some siracha if you want some heat. Cook only about 2 hrs on low. Toss in some broccoli and carrots diced at the end. SO GOOD!

Boiled can of sweetened condensed milk turned to caramel...yum! Saw this on the Cooking Channel. Great Dipping sauce for apples!

Slow Cooked Spicy Asian Beef - Tried this with top sirloin, omitted spice (for the tot) and at the last min. threw in egg noodles for last 30 min. instead of making rice (not my best idea) & that soaked up the sauce and I had to add more water. If I try this again I need to use brisket or chuck!

How to make caramel from sweetened condensed milk. This is pretty interesting. And the photo is yummy looking. But two hours in a pot of boiling water...that is a long time. I can make caramel in about five minutes on the stove top. Anyway...it is interesting.
