VALIDATE FEELINGS - A Positive Discipline Tool Card. We already do this with Flynn. If he bumps his head and starts crying we say, "Oh, wow, that must have hurt! You'll feel better soon", etc. (instead of saying "It's okay, you're fine" because they ARE hurt and are NOT fine.) I need to post this. I wish people would understand this, not just with kids but with everyone. It's not bad to be sad or mad or bored or irritated. It's part of life and we all just deal with it.
