    In WWII Germany, teenage girls were inducted into the "Band of German Maidens" (Bund Deutscher Mädel / BDM) wing of the Nazi Party youth organization. No Choice given, part of Hitler's battle for the minds of the youth.

    Sophia Magdalena Scholl (9 May 1921 – 22 February 1943) was a German student and revolutionary, active within the White Rose non-violent resistance group in Nazi Germany. She was convicted of high treason after having been found distributing anti-war leaflets at the University of Munich with her brother Hans. As a result, they were both executed by guillotine. She was only 21.

    Jimmy Stewart’s original attempts to join the Army were rejected because he did not meet the height and weight requirements to become a fighter pilot. Unfazed by the setback, Stewart found an alternative route by joining the U.S. Air Corps, where he would quickly rise through the ranks and become a Colonel in just four years. He won virtually every Medal of Honor available, helped fly crucial missions in Nazi Germany and would later fly B-52 Bombers through Vietnam.
