Little Family Fun: FISH for numbers! Add numbers, laminate, magnets, have child roll a dice to catch that number fish.
Math Use die-cut... Matching game with dots and numerals, OR adding game for math center (add 2 fish's dots together and write a number sentence)
Counting dots on fish... Would be fun to attach a paper clip, then "fish" with a magnetic fishing pole. Once they catch a fish, put it on a tray with the corresponding numeral to match.
laminate, hook paperclip through & fish with magnet on the end of a stick -have another set with the numerals to match when they fish out the numbers -fish them out & sequence on a line
Number fish. Make with foam, then make matching fish with actual numbers and play a matching game. Use tally marks to align with Right Start Math?
Make your own fishing pond! cut out fish, draw dots or numbers on them and attach a magnet to the back (use the sticky magnets, easy to do). make a fishing pole by using a small wooden rod with string tied to the end and a magnet to the end of the string. make sure the magnets attract each other first! fish and either identify the numbers they catch or add two fish together for simple addition! Fun way to practice numbers, counting, and math!

Math/Fish in the Sea Counting Game
Ocean Theme, Math Center, Counting Activities, Egg Cartons, Sea Animal, Counting Goldfish, Preschool Ocean
Fish in the Sea counting game out of an old egg carton, stickers/foam sea animals, and goldfish crackers.
Fish in the Sea Counting Game-Math Center idea. I would do numbers 10-21 and start with simple counting/recognition; eventually turn it to an adding and/or subtraction game with dice. Could also do single dice and grab bag element where kids draw sea animal cards that say things like "add one" or "double number", etc.
Fish in the Sea Counting Game: Cut the lid off of your egg carton. Paint the egg carton blue. Set it aside to dry. Once the paint is dry, decorate the outside of the egg carton with sea life stickers. If you don’t have stickers, you can cut sea animals out of construction paper and glue them to the carton. Write the numbers 1-12 on the inside bottom of each egg cup.
Another great use for egg cartons. Counting goldfish crackers is extra fun!
