My mom hates syrup and never bought it, so I grew up eating Eggo's with melted cheddar cheese--I didn't realize that this wasn't something everyone did until I was in college. But "Cook this, not that" is what inspired me to add an egg on top--and it's a delicious improvement. I eat an Eggo, cheese, and egg breakfast sandwich most mornings! :)
