The House Wren - another sweet bird to have around. I usually put up about two or three houses, so they can decide which one they like best. ( I read this in a magazine. ) When they do have little ones, they get up before crack of dawn and keep up this hard work of feeding until it's practically dark. What a song to have in your yard. I have been blessed to see their families fly out, and learn from mom how to feed themselves.
Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus) - The northern flicker is a medium-sized member of the woodpecker family. It is native to most of North America, parts of Central America, Cuba, the Cayman Islands, and is one of the few woodpecker species that migrate.
