Leonardo da Vinci studied the Flower of Life's form and its mathematical properties
This is one of my many drawings of the human body. This is called the Vitruvian Man and depicts a perfectly proportioned human, something that many other artists (I'm talking about you, Michelangleo) had difficulty portraying. I did this by overlapping a circle and a square, and this began the idea that the human body can be measured using comparisons with other parts of the body (like how our wingspan is the same length as our height). I also believed that the human body is an analogy for the universe, the square symbolizing material existence and the circle symbolizing spiritual existence.

Leonardo da Vinci invented scissors. Also, it took him 10 years to paint Mona Lisa’s lips. #DaVinci #LeonardodaVinci #MonaLisa #fact #Art #Painting

Portrait of a man in red chalk (Leonardo) .(circa 1510) . in the Biblioteca Reale, Turin is widely, though not universally, accepted as a self portrait of Leonardo da Vinci. It is thought that Leonardo da Vinci drew this self-portrait at about the age of 60. The portrait has been extensively reproduced and has become an iconic representation of Leonardo as a polymath or "Renaissance Man". Despite this, some historians and scholars disagree as to the true identity of the sitter.

Codex Atlanticus Fol 307v A “flower of life” is a geometrical figure that is made by creating 7 or more superimposed and evenly-spaced circles. The center of each circle is on the circumference of up to six neighboring circles of the same diameter. It’s thought, by some, to be a representation of the “Tree of life” and a symbol of “sacred geometry” that exemplifies a mathematical link to the divine.

Workshop of LEONARDO DA VINCI Portrait of a Woman, known as La Belle Ferronière. Louvre~ early French Hood - I find the neckline and bodice of the gown interesting in this painting. In most of Holbein's-and others at court- sketches the lines of the bodice are quite straight and bosoms not emphasized. Yet, in the works of the Flemish Master of Half figures, Italian, and German we see that the bodices do allow for curves.

Leonardo DaVinci - Leda Da Vinci was an Italian Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist and writer. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived.

The name of this painting is, Madonna and Child with a Pomergranate. It was painted by Leonardo Da Vinci in 1475 and was completed five years later in 1480. This is showing the Christ child holding a pomergranate (representing the symbol of passion) to his mother, Virgin Marry. I like this painting because it sends a message to the viewer as well as having a meaning behind the painting.
