8 Detox Waters- to flush your liver.
Detox Water, Water Recipe, Water Detox, Detox Drinks, Detox Recipe, Flavored Water, Health Fit, Weights Loss, Drinks Water
FIRST OFF #HAES (Healthy at Every Size) and I'm putting in the recipes to avoid the dreaded 404 in the future :) Detox Water Recipes to Flush Your Liver Drinking water all by itself is a way to help flush the body of toxins on a daily basis, but with a few simple ingredients you can transform water into detox water and get even more benefit from it. This is something you can do each day, or as part of a more broad detoxing strategy. Each one of the ingredients listed here will provide slightly different benefits, so be sure to choose it according to the particular goal you have. APPLE CINNAMON DETOX(as seen on Dr. Oz) This is also referred to as the Zero Calorie detox water because it contains nearly zero calories. There are calories from the apple, but they’re pretty negligible. You’re probably used to seeing the zero on a bottle of water when it comes all the categories on the Nutrition Information label, like calories, fat, and sodium, and this would clock in pretty close. The cinnamon it contains is going to help stimulate your internal organs to cleanse themselves, while the apple is providing you with its all natural source of vitamins and minerals. Way better than just drinking regular water and a helpful boost to any detox program. " Apple Cinnamon Detox Water It's a pretty common idea that if you want to improve your diet and eating habits, you should cut out caloric beverages. Drinking calories makes it far too easy to lose track of what you're really consuming, and when we've been doing it for years it can be hard to consider what a big difference cutting it out could make. I've been drinking my 8 glasses (or more) of water daily for a while now, but I always had Diet Coke as my crutch. While I still roll my eyes when people go into the whole "diet soda is just as bad as regular soda" thing, and I know drinking it every now and then isn't going to kill me, I do realize that I'm better off without it. The problem is that I think it's crazy to expect people to ONLY drink water every single day. I'm an American and I need some flavor. That's where this detox water comes in. This water recipe will help clean up your system and even help your body burn calories more efficiently. That old rule "the more water you drink, the less you retain" is absolutely right, and drinking this apple cinnamon water will speed up the process of cutting water weight. You will need: A large pitcher Fuji apples Cinnamon sticks Ice Water Oops, I only had powdered cinnamon! :) This recipe has a 1:1:1 ratio, meaning you'll need 1 fuji apple and 1 cinnamon stick for 1 pitcher of water. With that said, you can leave the same apple and cinnamon stick in the pitcher for up to three days while refilling the water. Slice a fuji apple and toss the slices into the pitcher with the cinnamon stick. Cover with ice, then fill the pitcher with water and allow it to set in the fridge for 15 minutes before drinking. Enjoy it throughout the day in the place of any juice or soda you would normally have!" CUCUMBER LEMON MINT DETOX WATER(aka Sassy Water) Cucumbers are one of the most hydrating vegetables because they’re mostly made up of water. Many detox programs include cucumbers on them for this very reason, and adding them to your water pulls out their minerals so you’re getting an added benefit. Mix in the lemon juice and you’re getting the cleansing effect of citric acid and helping to clear out the digestive system. The mint makes things taste fresh and crisp, and goes nicely with the lemon and cucumber while providing additional nutrients and benefits. " Now that the warm weather is here, I’m craving some flavored water! Not the sweet, artificially flavored kind you buy, but naturally flavored with fruits and herbs. I have some recipes for flavored water here, but I found another water recipe I wanted to try that I found on a site called The Denver Housewife. It’s supposed to be good for hydrating and detoxing (or removing impurities from) the body. The lemon-mint-cucumber combination cleanses, aids in digestion, and rehydrates. I added an extra lemon because I love the lemon flavor (it does make the water pretty tart and lemony, so try it with two lemons first), and a little more cucumber. I already had mint growing in a large container on my patio, so it was so convenient to just snip some fresh mint right from the pot! If you don’t have a really large pitcher–a gallon-size pitcher would be best–you can make a half batch of this in a smaller pitcher. Or make the whole batch, split up into 2 smaller pitchers. This water would be great to bring to the office…you could make it in the evening and take it to work the next day! Note: If you are wanting to use this flavored water as part of a diet, you should always check with your doctor first! This water recipe is mainly a way to make drinking water more enjoyable with healthy natural flavorings for those who don’t like to drink plain water. Here’s how you make it… LEMON MINT CUCUMBER WATER slightly adapted from The Denver Housewife Makes 1 gallon-size pitcher 12 cups of water (3 quarts) 2 to 3 lemons, thinly sliced (you can also substitute limes or mix it up…use a lemon/lime combination–using organic lemons or limes is best) 1 small cucumber or 1/2 of a medium to large cucumber, preferably organic, thinly sliced 10 to 15 mint leaves. preferably organic Rinse lemons and cucumbers very well before slicing; slice thinly. Add lemons, cucumber, and mint to pitcher. Cover with water and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight (the flavor will be stronger if you refrigerate overnight, but I like the lighter flavor, too). Pour in a large glass over some ice…it’s very refreshing! This water tastes best the day or day after you make it. " JILLIAN MICHAELS DETOX WATER You are probably familiar with Jillian Michaels if you’ve ever seen an episode of The Biggest Loser. She also promotes her own line of workout programs and diet books. Here she’s endorsed a particular detox water recipe that uses cranberry juice, lemon juice, and dandelion tea all mixed together with a lot of water. The end result is that it’s also supposed to also help you lose weight. This can really be said for anything that has a detoxifying effect, since getting back to our more natural and clean state will have the byproduct of weight loss if we’ve moved toward a heavier state. " Here I am again reviewing another Detox Water... I think I have become the "Mikey" of trying these crazy Pinterest diets and detox waters. Remember those Life cereal commercials from your childhood where the cereal bowl keeps being past down the line and no one wants to try the cereal themselves but they urge "Mikey" to try it. Well consider me your "Mikey" I'll take on all these viral Pinterest crazes and give you my humble honest opinion. So back to the task at hand the Jillian Michael's Detox Water. This one has had a somewhat shady back story apparently it was adopted by an "Anorexic Supporters" group... So if you poke around and read any of the comments you'll see a lot of negativity. I AM NOT Anorexic nor could I ever be or want to be and it is a serious issue and anyone battling this needs to seek help! It is not a healthy lifestyle. I support detox waters as an aide in helping in healthy weight loss. OK Politics aside this actually is a very effective detox water. Here is the recipe... Jillian Michael's Detox Water 60 ounces Purified Water 2 TBS Diet Cranberry Juice 2 TBS Lemon Water 1 Bag Dandelion Tea - Stewed ( I found my tea at Walmart in the beverage isle near the crystal light) This is a replacement of normal water intake and not a meal replacement!! Dandelion tea has a history and reputation for breaking down fat and removing it from your body via good old fashioned waste... So you may have increased bowel movements so be prepared for this. Now for the part you have been waiting for... Does it work?!?? My opinion is it does! I just added the ingredients to my gallon jug of water that I drink daily and chugged away! It does have a somewhat acquired taste. The first day I had to force myself to chug it.. But after a bit I got used to the taste. I see a few others added stevia and splenda to theirs to help sweeten it up. Not sure if I would like that, but wanted to throw it out as an option if you are struggling to get the drink down. After a couple days I saw a visible decrease in excess "bloating" around my middle. Gotta love that!! It definitely cleaned me out. (I tried thinking of a classy way of saying this... ) I would recommend this after a week of indulgence, to help get you back on track and loose the vacation pounds you may have gained or to slim down before a big event. It does receive my stamp of approval!!" STRAWBERRY DETOX WATER Strawberries are a great way to add a familiar and preferred flavor to most anything, and in this case it can make your water taste better while also providing antioxidants and added vitamins and minerals to your body. This particular recipe includes watermelon and rosemary as well. This makes it a great detox recipe to use in the summer when it’s easier to build up a sweat, and it’s only natural to have the taste of strawberries and watermelon. It will help to make your detoxing efforts more enjoyable and seem like less of a chore. "Strawberry Infused Vitamin Water This hydrating and antioxidant infused-water boasts flavor and skin enhancing nutrients, not to mention a beautiful presentation! Enjoy this refreshing and seasonal anti-inflammatory drink! Ingredients 1 cup strawberries 2 cups watermelon, cubed 2 sprigs fresh rosemary dash of course salt filtered water Directions 1. Muddle the strawberries and rosemary in a bowl. 2. Add the muddled ingredients and the watermelon to a large pitcher. Pour water over the ingredients and stir. 3. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours, and enjoy!" SIMPLE DETOX WATER The simple, the better right? Let’s keep things simple and go with this quick way to make your water more healthy for you. This would be used as part of a plan to detox the body a little bit each day. It’s recommending that you take the juice from half a lemon and squeeze it into the water you drink when first waking up. This is a time when you’re most dehydrated and making sure that you get rehydrated on the double is vital. The lemon juice helps to get your digestive system going and prepares it for its daily duties to come. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR DETOX WATER Apple cider vinegar is a handy detoxing aid and it’s good to keep a bottle of it in the cupboard. You can instantly improve the quality of a glass of water by adding a bit of ACV to it, but in this case they’re showing you how to make a detoxifying drink from it. They’re also including lemons, cucumbers, and mint, a popular combination you’ve seen elsewhere on our list, but the use of apple cider vinegar gives it additional properties and benefits that you won’t want to miss, and that will only amplify the detoxing process. " I will enthusiastically admit that I drank pickle juice as a child. That’s right, pickle juice – the saltier and vinegarier, the better. I remember getting so excited when we’d finish a jar of pickles, because that meant I would get to sip on the liquid that was left. My friends scrunch up their noses in disgust when I tell them this, but I am not ashamed. Because let’s face it, I had the right idea. Vinegar has been lauded as a miracle ingredient for just about everything from cooking to chemical-free cleaning to detoxing. Apple cider vinegar in particular can help with removing toxins from the blood and liver, stimulating the movement of lymph fluid, and aiding in digestion. Seriously, Google “apple cider vinegar benefits” and you’ll be shocked by what you find. Common practice is to dilute 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon with a cup of water and to drink it before eating, but don’t let me get ahead of myself. Many people cannot stand the taste of vinegar, so sipping a cup full of vinegar water probably sounds like slow torture, so I came up with a concoction that will hopefully leave your tastebuds singing and your body smiling. (Okay, that was kind of lame, but it was also kind of cute, right?) I mixed up a drink into two big quart-sized mason jars using lemon, cucumber, mint, water, and of course, apple cider vinegar. This is a powerhouse of a drink: Lemons are known for their antibacterial, antiviral, and immune-boosting properties and aid in digestion. Cucumbers also aid in digestion and help our bodies to absorb the water and stay hydrated. Mint further helps digestion, as well as alleviates nausea, headaches, and respiratory disorders. This drink, if prepared as shown below, will help flush out your system if you drink it throughout the day. I try to finish one bottle by 2pm and the other by dinnertime. I got a lot of attention for this drink over the past couple of days from fellow yoga students at my local club. My dad mentioned how silly it is that something so simple like this could get so much attention, and it’s true – this drink is pathetically easy to make, tastes delicious, and is sugar-free. This recipe makes 2 quarts, so adjust as you would like to make the amount of water you want. Conveniently, 2 quarts is just about the daily recommended minimum! Vegan. Ingredients 1 lemon, thinly sliced 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced 4 sprigs mint 2 quarts filtered water 2-6 T. apple cider vinegar (optional) Preparation Slice lemon and cucumber as thinly as possible. Divide into 2 separate quart sized bottles or mason jars. Pluck mint leaves from stems and divide into jars. Fill to the top with water, leaving room for as much apple cider vinegar as you want. I put 3 tablespoons into 32 oz of water, but love the taste of vinegar, so I suggest starting at 1 tablespoon and going up from there, tasting as you go and stopping when you feel like it is about to get too vinegary. Refrigerate overnight. Carry with you throughout the day. Enjoy! LEMON & CAYENNE PEPPER DETOX (Master Cleanse) 60 oz. daily serving): • 60 ounces of filtered water • 12 Tablespoons of organic grade B maple syrup • 12 Tablespoons of organic lemon juice (50% limes may be used too) • 1/2 Teaspoon cayenne pepper powder There are a couple important things to remember when preparing the lemonade. For one, the lemon juice used must be fresh squeezed. This cannot be emphasized enough. It is necessary to use fresh produce. Canned juice won't work and will erase most of the benefits of using the master cleanser diet. Also, the maple syrup must be grade B maple syrup, not the sugar filled syrup that is used at the breakfast table. The cayenne pepper might seem unnecessary, but it is actually very important. Not only does it help to add a bit of a kick, but the pepper helps to break up mucus and increases healthy blood flow. It also is a good source of B and C vitamins, commonly referred to as Super Vitamins due to their many benefits for the body. Mixing teas with the recipe is one way to help modify things, just make sure It's decaffeinated tea because caffeine can restrict blood vessels and we want to keep your body passages as open as possible. Recommended length is 10 days (3 days if that is just too much due to time constraints) (alternate hungry periods with the lemonade or just water)…for future trials, it is said that you can work up to 30 days. You should practice no more than 3-4 times per year. Continue or increase exercise daily. Upon completion, ease into eating for 4 days eat only fruits, vegetable, juice, plain basmati rice & smoothies. Then resume normal diet. Benefits: It is great for detoxing, losing weight (.5-1#/day—will stay off with change of diet/exercise), a lot of energy after a couple of days, rejuvenation, and better complexion and tone to skin. The benefits of doing a detox diet are many and include pain relief, chronic ailment alleviation, allergy alleviation, and increased sex drive and potency. To dissolve and get rid of toxins and congestion that have formed inside your body, cleanse the kidneys, colon, and liver, To purify the glands and cells, To eliminate all unusable waste and hardened material in the joints and muscles, To relieve pressure and irritation in the nerves, arteries, and blood vessels, To maintain a healthy blood stream, To reduce acne and maintain a youthful skin. Notes: You may want to use a salt water cleanse/laxative 1-3 days prior to cleanse to make sure you do not become stagnant in the bowels or constipated. Master Cleanse Salt Water Flush One of the key aspects of the Master Cleanse is to flush your system of any toxins and accumulated waste which is clogging your system. The way this is done is by using a salt water flush or herbal tea. Both of these will clear your colon and get your internal organs into a much faster and better working mode. Drinking 1 teaspoon of unrefined non-iodized sea salt mixed with 25-35 ounces of water will flush out your system completely. One suggestion: whether you use the salt water flush or the herbal tea flush, it's best to be near a bathroom. If you experience flu like symptoms during the detox, continue but add in more water to help flush the toxins out" WEIGHT LOSS DETOX WATER (Fat Flush Water) This is a great detox water for weight loss, and is specifically geared at getting certain fruits into your body that you otherwise might not eat. They’re using grapefruit here, one of the quintessential weight loss foods that seems to always get brought up when asked which foods help to lose the most weight. Grapefruit also is a fantastic detoxing food, which is often overlooked. They use tangerines for more citrus and sweetness, and cucumbers for added minerals. "The fat flush water was first introduced by Kim Lyons, who presented this concoction on The Biggest Loser, combined with other weight loss tips. Kim adds that this drink tastes better the longer it sits. The vitamin C turns fat into fuel, while the tangerine increases your sensitivity to insulin, and the cucumber makes you feel full. Try this fat flush water for the next 10 days and see how great you feel. Below you will find a more detailed recipe for Kim Lyon’s fat flush drink! Fat Flush Water Ingredients 1/2 gallon water 1 slice grapefruit 1 tangerine, sliced ½ cucumber, sliced 2 peppermint or mint leaves Ice Directions Rinse grapefruit, tangerine, cucumber and mint leaves. Slice cucumber, grapefruit, and tangerine (or peel). Combine all ingredients in a half gallon pitcher. Allow the ingredients to sit for one hour for maximum benefits. Drink throughout the day. Stir & Enjoy!" ********** BONUS DETOXIFYING DRINKS ********** CRANWATER. We all know water is a diuretic and great for the entire body, but combined with cranberry juice, it’s a fantastic fat and water flushing drink. Combine 56 ounces of water and 8 ounces of 100% cranberry juice. Mix together and drink throughout the day. Make sure it is 100% cranberry juice with nothing else added. The cranberry juice contains high levels of organic acids, and when consumed on a regular basis may help your body actually dissolve fatty deposits. GRAPEFRUIT JUICE. Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice is one of the best things for your body. Grapefruit contains high amounts of Vitamin C, which helps your body to detoxify naturally. This drink helps your liver do the job it was meant to do – detoxify and metabolize your body! WATER. Yes, we know. What a shock! Plain old water! But, truly your body needs plenty of water to facilitate the breakdown of fat in your body. Drinking water will help flush out toxins and keep you energized so that your body to perform at its best. Keep in mind, drinking tons of water is not the answer to losing weight. You will still need to take in a proper diet and facilitate an appropriate exercise regime. Drinking water will keep your body clean and allow all of your organs to work properly instead of working overtime to keep your body going. GREEN TEA. Green tea is one of the most famous fat flushing drinks. Like cranberry juice, green tea is extremely high in antioxidants. It is known for helping many dieters lose fat quicker than usual when consumed 2-3 times a day. Green tea not only flushes fat, but also is packed with other helpful benefits for your body. I wish Pinterest kept the formatting that I work on :-/
