How to freshen your towels and get rid of that mildew stink
Wash your load of towels on the hot cycle and add 1 cup of vinegar… just hot water and the vinegar, nothing else. Let the washer do it’s job. Then, if you still smell a little bit, rewash with just hot water and 1/2 cup of baking soda. Again, no detergent, just baking soda and hot water. Voila!
Must try: How to get your dirty whites clean again... HOT HOT HOT water, 1 cap of laundry detergent, 1 cup powdered dish washer detergent, 1 cup bleach, 1/2 cup borax. Tell you what, you have to rewash it once to put softener in but it's the whitest you'll ever see your whites. If you omit the bleach it works great to get stains out of colors too (baby spit up is no longer a stain on OLD clothes)
Every month or two, give the pipes a good preventative cleaning to keep them clear of grease, oil, and hair clogs. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda down the drain, followed by 1/2 cup white vinegar. The mixture will foam up. Let stand for a few minutes to dissolve fatty acids, then pour boiling water down the drain to wash out any clogs.
Worked VERY well. Smell is strong but it gets the shower and grout clean! *Heat 12 ounces white vinegar in microwave until hot and pour into squirt bottle, then mix with 12 ounces Dawn dish soap & shake. Spray & let sit for an hour. (may use more vinegar than soap)
Shower Cleaner - I had previously pinned this, but now that I have tried it I am pinning it again. Seriously the easiest and best shower cleaner I have ever tried. Everything came off with no scrubbing. 1 cup vinegar (heated) mixed with 1 cup original blue Dawn. Spray on shower and let sit for 2 hours. Wipe off with a wet sponge.
ONLY use this and it leaves floor spotless. (Heavy duty floor cleaner recipe: ¼ cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap ¼ cup baking soda 2 gallons tap water, very warm.) It leaves everything smelling amazing.

SKUNK WASH One quart 3% hydrogen peroxide ¼ cup baking soda 1 teaspoon of liquid dish or laundry soap (without bleach or ammonia) Mix these 3 ingredients together, then dip a washrag in the solution and rub down the dog. Rinse and the odor will disappear within minutes! This recipe can also be used for clothes, skin, etc.
