I hope this is true--I never tire of stories about the connection between humans and animals. The firefighter had just saved the dog from a fire in her house. He rescued her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard and then he continued to fight the fire. She is pregnant in this photo. The firefighter was afraid of her at first because he had never been around a Doberman before. When he finally finished putting out the fire, he sat down to catch his breath and rest. A photographer from a Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, “The Observer,” noticed the red Doberman in the distance looking at the fireman. He saw her walk straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do. As he raised his camera, she approached the firefighter, who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him as the photographer snapped this photograph.

What a stunning dog... ( I used to have one of these. He was called Eagle. He was very very over protective of me, to the point when I got married, my hubby had to make sure Eagle walked beside him when crossing the yard. he lived to be 12.)

These pictures always make me smile. Go firefighters, for caring enough to make sure that our furry friends make it out okay, too.

My daughter-in-law just gave this to me for Christmas...love it!
