    Sitting on the dock of the bay ~ Otis Redding Omg!!!! Loved Listening to this blasting from my stepfather's 8 track while riding in the car! Memories! Otis recorded this, his greatest number one hit BUT he died before it was released. He never knew how successful it was.

Sitting On The Dock Of A Bay - Otis Redding, written by Redding & Steve Cropper - It was first recorded in 1967, just days before his death and released posthumously on STAX Records' Volt label in 1968, becoming the first posthumous single to top the charts in the USA.

Otis Redding, a dynamic performer and songwriter, was only 26 when he died in a plane crash on Dec. 10, 1967.
