My name is Doreen aka Aunt Reen. I've been a passionate quilter for 30+ years. I love all aspects of quilting and find great joy in teaching and in learning from other Quilters. I am especially fond of sewing small scale quilt blocks and also enjoy applique'.

I've always been a big fan of log cabin quilts, and I never get tired of making them! This one is called Room and Board and is made from a Fat Eighth bundle and some of our new low volume dots. It is 80" x 80", quilted in Baptist Clams (thanks @alatimer!), and has a scrappy binding. You know how I feel about a scrappy binding!

Steampunk Quilt Blocks

Amy Udall Smart of Diary of a Quilter is working away on her Jen Kingwell Designs Steampunk quilt, and we are loving watching it come together! To make things quick and easy, she keeps a little stack of blocks cut by her machine for when she needs a quick sewing break. She is machine piecing the blocks with Aurifil 50wt thread and the circles are appliquéd with our new 80wt thread! To see more…
