Make the anchor chart and laminate it. With each story read, use post it notes to answer.

Great Social Studies "where do I live" activity! I laminated the cards so students can do this as a daily practice by using dry erase markers to write and erase their personal information.

Brown Bag Book Club: Students fill out the reader response form. Fill the bag with popcorn and divide students into groups to discuss the story. They can snack as they share what they learned.

When they are reading they will get a post-it to write a question they have during their reading to place on the board. The students will also get a post-it after reading and write a question. As a class we will discuss the questions and go over possible answers.]

Transition words activity - Write a class story... Make sure to discuss words/phrases prior to activity so students know what they mean and when they're used in various situations. Categorize transition words into beginning, middle, and ending word baggies. Have students pick transition words/phrases out of each bag while writing the story to develop the plot and apply the skill.
