Leave it on a day that you don't tell your students you will be absent. Students would love this!!

Title: Our Teacher is Missing Writing Idea Grade Level: - This writing prompt printable is great to leave when a teacher will not be present in the class for the day. Great way to keep the students on task for the substitute teacher.

Mapping out the plot line means referencing all the elements of fiction. The Story Mountain graphic organizer helps students to envision rising action and falling action with a visual.

Story Mountain: I love the "Hook" at the bottom of the mountain. I teach hooks, and I teach story mountains, but never thought to put them together in the visual!

Snowball Fight...kids write 3 things about themselves on a sheet of white paper. They do not write their names on the paper. Wad it up and on your command, have a "snowball" (or baseball) fight. At the end of 1 minute, each student grabs the nearest snowball and tries to guess who wrote it. Would be great at the beginning of the year!

This was a teacher's bulletin board! Love the title, the layout, color choices. Everything. From the book Wonder by R. Dyer--The book would be a great read aloud, too.
