sorry, I reposted this only as an example of A REALLY DUMB WAY TO TRY TO LEARN TO WRITE. You're not fitting pipes or changing your oil. You're writing a story. If you do it by following directions, it will be flat, and it will suck. You just write down a bunch of honest, brave things. Thing's you're scared to say. You do NOT. Follow. A. Fucking. Chart.

I like to think of myself as a structured writer, at least in my outlines and preparatory work. This is a great graphic because it so clearly lays out the path that most stories follow. While I don't compose stories, I’m certainly familiar with following a general path when writing. I like order and structure and that's something that I'd like to continue working on. There’s always room for improvement and you can never plan too much!
