speed for the record or album--and even before when there were only 78s. When 45s came out you had to have a whole different turn table. Then when 33 1/3s came out there was the switch.. you had to have a large tube like piece to put over the spindle for the 45's or an insert for the record itself.

Old style stereo...a staple in every family room or teenager's bedroom!
