As part of the 2012 Design Basel/Miami Fair in Switzerland, Moscow's Heritage Gallery is exhibiting key furniture pieces representing the best of 20th-century Soviet interior design. The main theme of the exhibition is the aesthetic of Khrushchev's Thaw period, when repression and censorship were reversed, and how Soviet designers of this period continued the trends established by the avant garde of the 1920s.
