Mockingbird--Texas State Bird

Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos), Texas State Bird Northern Mockingbirds have extraordinary vocal abilities; they can sing up to 200 songs, including the songs of other birds, insect and amphibian sounds, even an occasional mechanical noise.

Mockingbird. My favorite. We have one in the neighborhood and it has quite an impressive repertoire.

I love listening to their songs late in the afternoon. This was my mother's favorite bird, but I used to think them drab. Now I fully appreciate their beauty.
