Galápagos Hawk San Cristobal Island, Galapagos Islands Galapagos Hawk (Buteo galapagoensis) is a large hawk endemic to Galapagos. It is about 55 cm from beak to tail with a wingspan of 120 cm. Adult Galapagos Hawk is generally a sooty brownish black colour; the crown being slightly blacker than the back. Feathers of mantle are partially edged with paler brown, gray, or buff, with their white bases showing to some extent. Their tail coverts are also barred with white.The tail is silvery gray.

**Hawk The other day (4-28-14) while my husband and I were working in the yard, he pointed to me a Hawk flying over us and the Hawk had caught a fish... din-din time.

Hawk-- literally just saw a hawk (don't know what species) in my backyard. Came in from shoveling with my dogs look outside and there is this HUGE bird sitting on the play set.
