Highly Recommend - i thought the ending was disappointing (though others might love the twist), but i really enjoyed the fearful world the author created and the piecemeal manner in which the reader comes to understand it. Worth Reading, Zimmer Bradley, Mists Of Avalon, Marion Zimmer, Legends, The Woman, Books Worth, King Arthur, Favorite Books
One of my All TIme Favorite Books! "There is no such thing as a true tale. Truth has many faces and the truth is like to the old road to Avalon; it depends on your own will, and your own thoughts, whither the road will take you." The Mists of Avalon, Marion Zimmer Bradley. Pinner writes: "The magical legend of King Arthur vividly retold through the eyes and lives of the women who wielded power from behind the throne - Guinevere, the Lady of the Lake, and Morgan Le Fay (Morgaine.)"
The Mists of Avalon, Marion Zimmer Bradley. My favorite fantasy novel. Fantasy isn't my favorite genre, but this is a book worth reading and re-reading. A story set during the Arthurian era, much of it told from a woman's perspective, about what life was like back in those days when Christianity was gaining steam. A wonderful story and well written.
Chicago, 1920: Hadley Richardson is a quiet twenty-eight-year-old who has all but given up on love and happiness—until she meets Ernest Hemingway and her life changes forever. Following a whirlwind courtship and wedding, the pair set sail for Paris, where they become the golden couple in a lively and volatile group—the fabled “Lost Generation”—that includes Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound, and F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald

Books worth reading this year...
I've decided to start pinning the books that my friends and I are reading in our book club. First up: The Paris Wife - Paula McLain (about the wife of Ernest Hemingway)
The Paris Wife: A Novel Paula McLain: Such a good book!
The Paris Wife: Excellent read. Love historical fiction. And anything that gives a peek into the life of the great Ernest Hemingway.
The Paris Wife - Paula McLain (about the wife of Ernest Hemingway). On my winter reading list.
The book is much better than the movie (I still love you Tom Hanks). Only thing I hate is Robert Langdon. You can tell a guy wrote it because he gets laid at the end of every book, and he's a 40-year-old, pudgy, balding university professor. Right. His earlier books are better: Deception Point, Digital Fortress, and others.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini: my new favorite book
A Thousand Splendid suns, great book... I haven't read the kite runner, but a thousand splendid suns by khaled hosseini. Spanning 3 decades of life in afghanistan, this story is full of love and betrayal, hope and despair, friendship and pain, terror and joy. So believably told from a woman's perspective, remarkable that the author is male, highly recommended, but be prepared to cry.

Winner of a Pulitzer Prize, Middlesex is the story of a girl with a particular set of genes growing up in 1960s Detroit, as well as a history of her Greek immigrant family.

Its characters and events are loosely based on aspects of Eugenides' life and observations of his Greek heritage. It is not an autobiography; unlike the protagonist, Eugenides is not intersex. Primarily a Bildungsroman and family saga, the novel chronicles the impact of a mutated gene on three generations of a Greek family, causing momentous changes in the protagonist's life.

The Hunger Games- Favorite book series ever! Can't wait for the movie!
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins...I am halfway through this, but I already know this book is well written and is a book worth reading. I wanted to read it before seeing the movie, which I thought I would never want to see. I was wrong about that!

Winter's Bone - Daniel Woodrell
Worth Reading, Books Worth, Daniel Woodrel, Front Doors, Movie, Winter Bones, Reading Lists, Families, Books Review
Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell. Great book. Movie was good, but as usual the book was better.
My favorite book read now that I'm in College is "Winter's Bone". I read it my second semester and I like it because it gives a lot of insight and detail. It's a good story that makes people really think about the way people that do drugs struggle with that, and really poor families that find any way to support their families. this book has a movie too and I watched it but I didn't like it because it doesn't give as much detail as in the book.
Winter's Bone: The sheriff's deputy at the front door brings hard news to Ree Dolly. Her father has skipped bail on charges that he ran a crystal meth lab, and the Dollys will lose their house if he doesn't show up for his next court date. With two young brothers depending on her and a mother who's entered a kind of second childhood, Ree knows she has to bring her father back, dead or alive, or else see her family turned out into the unforgiving cold.
nice little memoir

F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" (1925) 1st Edition hardcover designed by Francis Cugat. Great book cover. Great book.
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald. Classic American literature. Loved reading this in high school. Easily pulled into the excellent plot.
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald. The scene of Gatby and Daisy" first kiss and Nick's reflections at the end of the novel alone make this novel worth reading.
The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald. Undeniably one of the greatest book jackets of all time.
F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" (1925) 1st Edition hardcover designed by Francis Cugat probably my favorite book
