Guggenheim Museum / 1071 Fifth Avenue, New York City, New York / 1943-1959 / Frank Lloyd Wright -- Wright's inverted ziggurat starts people at the top of the building via elevator, and leads them down a continuous ramp. The galleries are divided, with self-contained yet interdependent sections. The open rotunda afforded viewers the unique possibility of seeing several bays of work on different levels simultaneously.
