I was sitting on a comfy chair alone in my living room when i read Dumbledore died. I started crying and had to set the book down for a moment. My dad walked by and saw me crying and asked what was wrong. I blubbered "Dumbledore died". He couldnt understand me so I repeated myself. He said oh someone from your book and moved on. I was so mad!

If You Find Me is a good Young Adult book to read if you’re looking for a somewhat emotional story and can stomach reading about abuse. Adding it to my to read list
If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch. A broken-down camper hidden deep in a national forest is the only home fifteen year-old Carey can remember. Now, Carey must face the truth of why her mother abducted her ten years ago, while haunted by a past that won’t let her go.
If you find me / Emily Murdoch. For years, fifteen-year-old Carey has lived in a broken-down camper in the woods with her mother and younger sister. When she and her sister are taken away and enter a new, seemingly normal life, Carey must bury long-held secrets for fear that her new life will be taken away.
If You Find Me, by Emily Murdoch. Nominee for Carnegie Award. Hard to put down. Not graphic but there are tough situations. Protagonist has to play mother to her younger sister because her mother is a drug addict. Father finds them and takes them away to a more normal life – very new to them. For older teens.
If You Find Me / Emily Murdoch "Enduring a difficult existence in the woods with her younger sister and the mentally ill mother who abducted them, 14-year-old Carey is found by her father and thrust into a perplexing world filled with new clothes, busy stores and plentiful food that is overshadowed by a painful secret about her sister's silence."
4 stars. If you find me by Emily Murdoch. Young adult novel with shades of "Winter's Bone". Some abuse described necessary for the story line
Living in a broken-down camper hidden in a forest, fifteen year-old Carey and her younger sister, Jenessa, just have each other. After their mentally ill mother disappears for good and they are put into foster care, Carey must face the truth of why her mother abducted her ten years ago, and find the reason why Jenessa has not spoken in over a year.
If You Find Me | Emily Murdoch -- FIC MUR. YALSA's 2014 Best Fiction for Young Adults.
Book Review: 4 of 5 stars "If You Find Me” is a touching yet poignant story of two sisters struggle to survive. Carey is a fifteen year old girl who is taking care of her younger sister Jenessa while their mother, who is bio polar and has addiction issues, leaves them for extended periods of time. As if this would not be enough to contend with their mother has them living in a run down camper with no electricity or running water seven to eight miles into the woods. Murdoch has chosen a very hard subject for her first novel. Child abuse is an atrocity that should never happen but when a parent lets someone else abuse their child it is ten times worse. What she gives us is a simplified version of the out come.Written from Carey point of view it is easy to fall in love with her as a protagonist. She is level headed and extremely protective of her little sister. She treats Jenessa like a loving mother and only wants for her happiness regardless of the repercussions to herself. Reading how she adjusts to new circumstances is very touching and heart wrenching.Jenessa is super sweet and endearing. While she has come back with some psychological issues due to her time in the woods she learns how to love easily. There are a few passages about her and her best friend Shorty that go a long way to proving that point. What made this book so tremendous are the tender raw emotions that poor through the tombs. It is easy to get caught up with the narrative since it moves at a quick pace and gives you something new to hang on to while you are waiting for the next revelation.Since this book is meant for a younger audience it was a relief to not see certain points delved into to deeply such as the physical abuse however with that being said there are a few disturbing scenes. I wouldn’t recommend this book for someone under the age of fifteen. This book is far from perfect in certain respects and takes liberal leaps of faith in others but overall it is a stunning debut from Emily Murdoch.
