Japanese Tie-Dye Uchiwa Fan

I bought this beautiful fan in Japan while I was living there. An Uchiwa fan is made with paper, a bamboo handle and bamboo frame. This one has handmade paper that has somehow been tie-dyed in indigo. There's white paper at the back. I love the bamboo strips showing just below the paper. Uchiwa fans are popular during the hot, humid summers in Japan. Japanese fans make beautiful decorations and are a great way to keep cool! I did use this fan in Japan, and there's a very tiny tear on one side at the bottom edge where the paper joins the bamboo, but otherwise it's in very good condition. The fan measures 10 1/2" (27cm) and the handle, from the bottom of the fan is 5" (12.5cm). If you would like more than one fan, contact me for a special price.
