Create a set of story stones. You may also paint all kinds of imaginary species, affirming words children should know. I do this, except I painted about 100 different pieces of scrap wood. Kids love to sit on the floor with me and play with them.

Create a set of story stones. My sister in law was telling me about a Center in a K class she supplied in - teacher placed objects in a bin and the students had to make up a story mentioning all the objects. The teacher helped them to write it down and then they presented it to the class, showing the objects as they are mentioned. Could be a table top activity?

What a great idea for stone art. The grandgirls will love making these and making up stories with them. We can also use them in our fairy garden pond. As suggested on Red Ted Art, we will count, weigh, measure, and weigh them. Love this. I am thinking we may do turtles, too, and maybe bugs with googley eyes. Can't wait for the April snow to melt here in MN.
