.paper nautilus shells My favorite shapes and creations tend to be borrowed from nature. Paper Nautilus shells can be collected on rare occasions from Southern California Islands Western beaches.

Stacked Sea Treasures,we went to Pottery Barn,several years ago,they had wonderful,washed white candle stands, and the candles were in different sea shells molds. Needless to say,we spent moree than we had planned but it's still beautiful.

ammonite: Per Wikipedia the ammonites went extinct with Dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Ammonites survived until the end of the Cretaceous period in a sea that covered what is now Alberta. Canada and Montana, USA. These ammonites were transformed into the rare gem known as Ammolite.

Variety is shown in this picture with the different types of sea shells. The different lines and colors of the shells also add the the principle of variety. Each shell is placed differently in the way that it is set up making each shell different but also creating a sense of unity.

Conch shells by the humdreds around Tobacco Key in Belize. Discarded conch shells were used like we use rocks -- for soil erosion. Also numerous live ones where we snorkeled.
