These bookshelves were built by the guy who lived in the loft before us. They're actually really oddly shaped and sized (some cubbies are deeper or wider or taller than others) but that only adds to the charm. Sneak Peek: Johanne and Palle Bruun Rasmussen's Aarhus home. "The big bookshelf is built in and was there when we moved in, a perfect example of practical and pretty. Last year we didn’t go on summer holiday; instead we bought this Flagline chair by Hans J. Wegner, designed in 1950 and unbelievably good for a nap. The floor lamp is by Arne Jacobsen and was a gift from Palle’s parents." #sneakpeek
This is our main "living" area, we found the vintage turkish rug on ebay and mixed it with the cowhide rug from Ikea. I'm a big fan of mixing textures and patterns and feel that the mix of fabrics helps the room feel cozy. Our couch is from Room & Board and most of the other furniture is from craigslist. We recently put up the bookshelves on the right to create a wall separating our living area and our work studio. The shelves are from World Market.
