I love the open shelving for easy access to large pieces, the glass front fridge, schoolhouse lighting, great stove, and the built-in space for cookbooks in the kitchen -where one will actually USE them. Brilliant!
absolutely perfect!! The grid window, the glass front cupboard, the wood floor, the tile backsplash that extends to the ceiling, stainless steel, apron front sink, the dark wood island, the wolf stove/oven <3. But maybe darker countertops?? Also, notice the false fascia above the cabinets for the 9' ceilings.
Shopping on a Budget: This style cooking island is just what I need in my 1926 farm house kitchen that has an open kitchen/dining room layout. The positioning of the stove allows the cook to interact with his guests while he is preparing the meal. The raised bar is great because (a) it "hides" the cooking area (b) provides an additional seating area (c) provides extra space for a "buffet" area!
Antiqued cabinets, traditional lighting. Bold but traditional island lighting made this kitchen particularly noteworthy. Houzzers also loved the antiqued cabinet glaze, contrasting green walls and warm granite counters.
